Ty's Party

Today we had Ty's 1st birthday party.  It was a lot of work, but turned out really good.  A lot of people came and I think everyone had fun.  Good thing I didn't know how much work it would be though, or we might have gone to McDonald's for his birthday.  Anyway, here's some pics from the big event in no particular order, because I can't figure out how to order them without dragging every one.  Anyway.......

The party was dinosaur themed, and this was the cake.  Not too bad if I do say so myself
We had party bags tied to balloons for all the kids waiting when they got there.  I heard from a few sources that the balloons were not super appreciated by the parents :)
Dan and Kim were the first to arrive and last to leave.
Coby and Katelyn enjoying the spread
Ty's Great Grandma and Grandpa Boothe even made it!
We had a few different party games, but the undeniable favorite was the digging for dinosaurs.  Don't ask me how it didn't occur to me that it would be so messy, but it was.  And a few of the kids got sand to the face.  Ty did too, not from the other kids, but because he was putting spoonfuls of it in his mouth.  And yes, I feed him enough!
A bunch of the kids enjoying the sand.  About 5 seconds before this they were yelling at each other cause everyone was throwing sand.  I made them dig with spoons cause I thought it would be cleaner, but you wouldn't believe all the sand that was flying around.  More than one kid took a spoonful of sand to the face, but it must not have been too bad cause they kept coming back.
Camille, Jesse, Marc, and Grandpa again.  The game is on, which is why we couldn't convince Marc to look at the camera
 Heidi and Dave were there
Beckam was there, and loved his balloon, but he cried every time I tried to get him to play a game
Clearly Elisa has him trained.  The sand was everywhere and he came out of nowhere with a broom and started cleaning up.  I asked if I could hire him once a week.
Ty and Beckam had a lot more luck once those crazy girls cleared out
The dino cake with Ty's candle
Another game we played was the bean bag toss.  We made the hole a dinosaur mouth and most of the kids like it.  I say most because someone broke it.  Not naming names, but Makenna owes us about 5 hours of community service.
I made little cupcakes, and one box made about a million.  As you can see here a lot got eaten.  Also on display is Kev's mad piping skills.  Watch out food network
Katelyn was so cute and loved the games.  She always followed the rules even when other kids didn't.
Kenna loved the balloon and wouldn't put it down for anything.  She also ate about 3/4 of the cupcakes.
Mya was the champion of pin the teradactal on the poster.  She celebrated by dumping her juice on the floor.  You go girl!
Ty keeping it real with Uncle Jesse.  He sported his dino outfit to match the theme.  What a player.
Haven was such a little poser.  She decided to strike a pose on her own, and then she held it for like 10 minutes.  But then she had to get back to ring tossin
Someone needs to teach Kyler how to wear a party hat.  And that pin the teradactal on the poster isn't supposed to land on the wall :)
Halle kept the party moving.  She made sure to let me know when we needed to start games, move to new games, open presents, and eat cake.  Not sure what we would have done without her
Ty blowing out the candles.  Or the candle going out from Kev's breath when he says "Blow Ty."  Whatever.
We gave Ty a big chunk of cake expecting him to dig in, but he methodically ripped off tiny pieces and ate them very carefully.
Trying to feed daddy, I thought we were posing, but clearly I was wrong.
Kev broke off a piece and gave it to him, and he finally went to town
I don't know why Kev suggested he not wear a bib
Love that little grin!

Happy Birthday TY!
